- Sarah married Job Wikinson in 1852. By 1861 they were clearly separated. In both 1861 and 1871, Sarah and her children were living with her unmarried brother Isaac, and Job was living with the family of his sister Sarah Ann Moreton.
The 1881 census probably reveals the truth - Sarah is now named as Leigh and as Isaac's wife, and her occupation as housekeeper has been crossed out!
With this evidence, it seems at least possible that Sarah's younger children Peter Leigh Wilkinson and Martha Leigh Wilkinson were actually fathered by Isaac, who would be both their uncle and their father. All Sarah's children on this census are shown as Isaac's children, which seems a little unlikely.
Married:
- Since Isaac and Sarah were siblings, they could not marry. Yet they were described as spouses in a census.
