The gravestone (lower half) of William and Ellen Foster and their children The gravestone is located at St Mary Church, Penwortham, Lancs. It is immediately behind the church, laid into the ground. People were buried in this grave from 1766 to 1863. The gravestone is so large I could not cover it with one photo! |

Thomas Foster marriage to Ann Read, 1791 This was the first marriage of Dave's 3* great grandfather Thomas Foster. He and Ann married at St Mary Church, Penwortham, Nr Preston, Lancs, on 3 Jan 1791. The entry does not read quite right. I think that the entry reads: "Thomas Foster and Anne Reade both of this Parish were Published in this Church Decr nineteenth & twenty sixth and January the second and were married in the Church of Penwortham by Banns the third day of January in the year one Thousand seven Hundred and ninety one in the Presence of {by Jas Barton Minister Lucy Easthame John Foster" |
