  No father named on Birth certificate. George was born in the Shipton on Stour workhouse before Charlotte married John Hartwell. It was thought that John Hartwell was possibly the father, but it now seems likely, to judge from the baptism record for George, that he was the result of incest between his mother Charlotte and her brother John.
