    This photo was taken from a book commemorating the New Hampshire Civil War veterans.

  • Notes 
    • Granville served in the 15th NH Regiment starting in August of 1862 for nine months. He was drafted under the Lincoln call for more men in the summer of 1862. A bounty of $200 was paid to any man who would enlist for three years or would be drafted for nine months. Bounties were paid to thirty men from Hollis. This Regiment left Concord New Hampshire on November 12, 1862 under the command of Col John Kingman for New Orleans and served there on garrison duty until May 1863 when they embarked for Port Hudson Louisiana which was under siege and surrendered in July of 1863. Granville served in Co E along with 2 other Hollis soldiers under Capt. William Stearns of Manchester and Francis Wood of Hollis as 2nd Lt. Granville carried on the Shedd farm and mill after the death of his Father-in-Law (325 Silver Lake Road. He also owned a mill at Witches Spring Road for a while. In the 1850 Federal Census he was living in the household of Ezra Shed (his future wife's brother) and is listed as a farmer. [10]
